The Samsung N140 netbook is available with either Windows XP or Windows 7
The Samsung N140 is one of the latest in Samsung’s excellent lineup of netbooks and offers very good value for money for those looking for a fairly conventional specification with either the choice of Windows XP Home or Windows 7 Starter Edition.
The N140 uses the reliable Intel Atom N270 processor and will probably be one of the last Samsung netbooks to use this processor before we start to see netbooks with the new Intel Pine-Trail processors coming out in the next month or two.
There are differences between the Windows XP and Windows 7 versions of the Samsung N140 in that the Windows 7 version has a larger 250Gb hard disk whereas the Windowns XP version has the smaller 160Gb hard disk. You will pay slightly more for the Windows 7 version of this Samsung netbook although when we checked pricing on Amazon UK there was only a £13.00 difference between the 2 models.
The battery in the Samsung N140 should be good for up to 9 hours but we will be putting this claim to the test when we complete our review roundup of all the top N140 reviews shortly.
If you want to purchase a fully featured and well designed 10 inch netbook with Windows 7 then the Samsung N140 is good bet at around or just over the £300 mark.
